• Fixed a bug (introduced in version 1.4.3) causing a bomb on 68000-based Macintoshes (Plus, Classic).
• Fixed a bug (introduced in version 1.4.1) that caused scheduled time server calls to occur at periods twice the chosen interval (every other week instead of every week for example)
• Fixed a bug (introduced in version 1.4.3) that sometimes caused incorrect clock settings under some circumstances.
• Added five time servers number for Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart and Perth).
• Removed the "set clock" button from the main clock window; to set the clock you can double-click inside the main clock window, or use the adequate menu command. Double-clicking inside another clock window will set the Mac's location to this window's location.
• The main clock window now shows a small mac icon to denote that it displays the system time.
• Clock windows now shows a sun icon when daylight saving time are on.
• The Macintosh's Parameter RAM data is now updated to reflect AutoClock settings; this includes:
- the lattitude, longitude, and UTC offset of the current location (which are used by the "Map" control panel),
- and the daylight saving time bit (which is used by the "Date & Time" control panel since System 7.1.1 Pro).
• Added a few important US cities.
Bug Fixes:
• Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the logbook windows to appear incorrectly (introduced in version 1.4.2).
• Fixed internal DST and UTC offset algorithms which were wrong in some rare situations.
• Fixes a bug in time setting and displaying when the "Automatic DST" feature was off.
• Added a fix for the bug in the control panel of the Global Village TelePort Bronze modem, that caused the clock go back to its previous (and incorrect) time after a connection. (Not yet tested; let me know whether the fix is effective or not)
• Fixes a bug that caused the extension to beep at startup.
• Fixes a bug that sometimes prevented the startup icon to be displayed at startup.
• Fixes a bug that caused AutoClock to retry an automatic connection after a failed connection when a manual connection in between was successfully completed.
• Fixes an incompatibility with the Delay feature of FaxSTF.
• Added the choice "next-to-last" in the Daylight Saving Time rules.
• Fixes a bug with both Australian time servers due to an unexepected change in their time format.
• Added Daylight Saving Time rules for Australia and New Zealand. (Not really sure they are correct).
• Fixes default phone number of both Australian servers (a leading zero was missing).
• Fixes the Daylight Saving Time OFF time for United State (2:00am instead of 3:00am)
• Added initialization strings for some popular modems in the documentation.
• AutoClock is now compatible with seven time servers all over the world: two in USA, two in Australia, and three in Europe.
• Automatically adjusts the clock for Daylight Saving Time (DST), according to specific rules of each country. (The rule database is incomplete; please let me now if there are any missing or erroneous data).
• Dialog box for changing time zone offset and DST adjustment rules for each country.
• The logbook now displays the date of the next DST adjustment.
• Displays a notification before (editable delay) and after the DST adjustment.
• Possibility to change the port speed from 1200 bps up to 57600 bps. Beware! avoid using a speed other than 1200 bps if all is working well at 1200 bps. This option is to be used only with some modems that cannot exchange data with the Macintosh at 1200 bps.
• Possibility to specify a "De-Initialization" modem string to allow setting your modem back to a specific state after a connection.
• On first use of AutoClock, the "Location…" and "Communication Settings…" dialog boxes are automatically opened.
• You can now double-click on a secondary clock (showing time in another zone) to adjust the Mac's clock to the time in that zone.
• Can now detect if the serial port is already in use. If you are using a fax software that does not let AutoClock use the serial port, check the new "Force Port" check box, in the Communication Settings dialog box. Do not use "Force Port" unless you find it necessary.
• You can use the keyboard to select a country in the "Location…" and "Other Zone…" dialog boxes, by typing the first letter(s) of its name.
• Added the new menu choice "Select All" to select text or logbook entries.
• Logbook entries can now be 'copied'.
• Only most recent logbook entries are now used to compute the mean clock deviation. Older (more than three months old) data are not used unless there are no more recent data.
Bug fixes:
• Fixes a date format bug in the logbook (introduced in version 1.3.1).
• Fixes a bug that could make the AutoClock finder icons disappear.
• Fixes a bug that could freeze the Mac Plus/SE/Classic when used with System 6.0.x.
• Fixes an incompatibility bug with Crash Barrier (from Casady & Greene) while quitting AutoClock.
• Fixes an incompatibility bug with "Dark Side" while setting the clock with "Dark Side" active.
• AutoClock connections are now more reliable with some modems.
• Fixes a bug causing a bomb in few circumstances, after a failed connection.
• Fixes a bug causing an invalid adjustment of several hours in a few circumstances, instead of a single second, when using the continuous adjustment feature.
• Fixes a bug causing a bomb after displaying consecutive error messages in alert windows.
• If a connection must occur at startup, AutoClock will now wait for one minute after the Finder appearance before proceeding, to avoid some incompatibilities.
• Fixes bug that prevents the AutoClock extension from working correctly with System 6.0.x.
• Some circumstances that caused the appearance of an "X" over the AutoClock icon at startup have been eliminated.
• Fixes inversion of messages "…clock is slow/fast" after connection.
• Fixes cosmetic problems with display dates in the logbook window, especially when using foreign formats such as German.
• The X1 Hayes command is no longer necessary with some modems sending RINGING before connecting.
• Fixes UTC offsets for Malaysia and Nepal (Asia), and Newfoundland (Canada).
• Divides 15 states in U.S. and Canada that are split over two time zones.
• Can now set clock manually (using a voice time server such as 303-499-7111, or your watch, for example), allowing those without a modem to use the continuous clock adjustment feature.
• Added a verification that cancels continuous adjustment if this adjustment is too large (that is, probably wrong).
• If you change the "Daylight Saving Time" option in the "Location…" dialog box, AutoClock now asks if it must adjust the clock (by adding or subtracting one hour).
• "AutoClock Extension" is now fully compatible with Systems 6.0.5 to 6.0.8 (and System 7.0), allowing scheduled clock adjustment and continuous adjustment with these systems.
• Adjusts the clock continuously using its mean deviation, saving calls to the time server (requires system 7).
• Records in the logbook every external clock change (with Clock DA, or General control panel for example) (requires system 7).
• Recognize extra serial ports which are compatible with the Communication Toolbox (for example: QuadraLink from Applied Engineering) (requires system 7).
Bug fixes:
• With multi-monitor configurations, you can now move a window in any monitor.
• Fixes an incompatibility of AutoClock extension with some extensions (for example Desktop Reset from Salient Software).
• Fixes UTC offset for Alaska: it is UTC-9 instead of UTC-10.
